Towards the end of World War II, Hitler was desperate. He pulled in young and old to fight a losing war. Sixteen year old Karl together with his older brother Hans were forced into the SS.

After spending months digging trenches to make Russian tanks impassable, Karl and his brother were captured.
Karl eventually finds himself in a prison camp.
This story follows his journey from then to modern day through the eyes of his daughter.

Rarely are all sides of war shared.
