Glimpses: Unintended

Genie Hoyne’s poems invite us into the many faces of love: of family, of friends, of the sensuality of place, of the comfort of ritual, of her steadfast belief in the dignity of the human person. She holds the work up to the reader in all of its complexities and pain yet there is a healing in each of her lyrical poems, even in a “death of a man child/now gone.” A beautiful, compelling and deeply felt collection.

The poems in this collection reflect the vision of a mother of eight children who pursued her undergraduate degree in Communications and graduate degrees in Mythological Studies and Clinical Psychology in her late 50's and early 60's. The poems abound with love, anger, loss, humor and wisdom.
