Ragged Road

Ragged Road is the story of Rose Caswell and Rafe Whitfield, high school seniors living in Kinston, North Carolina. An unexpected pregnancy and plans to marry are thwarted by the Caswell patriarch, Hamilton John Caswell. The ensuing tragedy and loss recalls that which happened regularly before societal changes of the 1970s. Broken hearts and broken families litter the ragged road traveled by the young lovers, whose story examines how love is complicated under any circumstance, and it is even more complicated when family dysfunction, mental health issues, and societal expectations come into play.
