A great alien civilization is dying. The Golsidans are an intelligent and technologically advanced people, but neither is enough to stop them from succumbing to a fatal flaw in their genetics-that is, they can't adapt to even the smallest of temperature fluctuations. The entire species is facing extinction.

Then, a young captain, Jao of Satorae, proposes a risky plan. They must seek their salvation off the planet of Golria. The planet Earth is home to an adaptive species that has the one quality the Golsidans lack. Human-Golsidan children may have the ability to survive and thus ensure that the Golsidan civilization does not fade away.

Anna Wolfe is the first human to agree to help the Golsidans.

Both Anna and the Golsidans will have to learn more about each other if they want the plan to work. As Anna endeavors to help the Golsidans recover their strength and eventually rebuild their civilization, the Golsidans are intrigued by Anna's determination and compassion for an alien species. The connection she makes with the Golsidans could herald a new beginning for their entire society.
