Mortuary cosmetician Callie Parrish is overwhelmed when her friend Rizzie's brother Tyrone discovers several human skulls in St. Mary, SC. Before scientists confirm whether the skulls are remnants of an ancient civilization or more recent homicides, sudden deaths begin. The last thing Callie expects in the midst of this turmoil is for her Great Dane Big Boy to disappear.
