Leonard's of the 1930's and 40's: The Unofficial Jewish Community Center of Portland

For over twenty years, Leonard's was the meeting place of Jewish men who could not join the

private social and athletic clubs. Leonard's became the home of sports figures, the racket people, business men and others who had to come downtown to bank, invest, buy wholesale.

The food was outstanding with a stolen chef from the Benson Hotel.
