An Ancient Fire. Born of an Extinct Race. A Boy Now Harbors its Flame.
The bloodfire of the ancients hasn’t been seen in thousands of years. To even the wisest of races, this fire is extinct. But darkness is coming out of the east to wreak havoc on the world, and one Trede boy has the key to unleashing the bloodfire and its power; and it lies within his own body.
Thalen, a poor miner’s son, has never left his realm, and has never seen the strange light that likes to emit from his body in times of distress, until now.
The Tredes have always been confined to one forest and denied knowledge of their history. Dragons are unheard of, magical creatures are unspeakable, and beings that can fly or will objects to themselves are purely laughable.
But that all changes when Thalen overhears two strangers in the forest whispering that a darkness is coming to take his people, and the time of the Sotari is at hand. Seeking answers, Thalen is whisked away to a forbidden land by a quirky old wizard.
Learning the truth of the world’s history, on the run from a High Council that’s out for his blood, fighting beasts of unimaginable horror, and eventually finding himself captured, Thalen must face his own fear and insecurity. The bloodfire burning inside of him can’t be stopped and its growing impatient.
Thalen will have to confront his own self and the power hiding beneath his skin. Will he embrace the bloodfire within to save his people and risk being exposed? His decision will determine the fate of his people and the entire world.
