His parents are constantly pressuring him to "settle down" and get married: they want grandchildren in the worst way, but Sidney, who has dedicated himself to serving his constituency, believes marriage would be his political Waterloo. And a woman who adores him-and happens to end up carrying his child-rejects him on the premise that he is unfit to be a father.
Amidst the campaign Sidney experiences a life-altering transition, much for the worse: he will never be the same. For the first time in his life he experiences genuine loss...and emerges a better man.
