The Manana Method

The Manana Method is a psychedelically tinged travelogue/memoir which follows two amigos Andy "Tunes" Clark and his sidekick Dangerous Dave, over nine thousand miles of road, from the border town of Nogales to the southern most point in Mexico.

Set in 1979, the young Americans live on a few dollars a day--existing on churros, enchiladas, and tamales, scrapping with the rapacious rats and scorpions in cheap hotels, sampling the local psychedelic drugs, and languishing on the white, pristine beaches overlooking a turquoise sea. In the end, their backpacking odyssey imbues them with understanding and a new love for a people who, after all, are not so different from them.
