British Library Pocket Diary 2017

Published to coincide with the 400th anniversary of his death in 1616, the pictures and quotations in the 2017 British Library Diary celebrate the life and works of ‘the bard’, and their continued adaptations and reproductions to-date.
William Shakespeare; poet, playwright and actor, is perhaps the most prolific literary figure to feature within the British Library’s collections, and indeed is often regarded as the greatest writer in the English Language. Shakespeare’s works have been translated into every major living language, and he is today listed as the world’s most quoted English writer.
