Selected Prose of James Clarence Mangan

Mangan (1803-49) is known primarily as the foremost Romantic poet of Ireland, but was also a prolific writer of prose. The collection here contains 32 mostly excerpts, but also some short pieces in entirety, of fiction and criticism. Many are from his contributions to various issues of Anthologia Germanica, Literae Orientales, and Sketches and Reminiscences of Irish Writers. Others include a Treatise on a Pair of Tongs, A Sixty-Drop Dose of Laudanum, and The Threefold Prediction. Only titles are indexed. Distributed in the US by ISBS.
