After finding a mysterious letter at her family's beach house in Cape May, New Jersey, young teacher Jenna Reed seeks the truth about her mother's involvement in a plot to hide a small child and five gold animal figurines, believed to be the lost treasure of Blackbeard. She soon becomes an unwilling participant in a deadly cat-and-mouse game between a ruthless modern-day pirate and a driven FBI agent who wants to settle a thirty-year old score. Jenna breaks her promise of swearing off men for the summer as two men finagle their way into her life and her heart.
