The Issues of Life

It was hard enough losing her mother at the tender age of nine, but Corrie's difficulties had only begun. Her new stepmother, resentful of a reminder of her predecessor, banishes Corrie to boarding school. Then Corrie's job as seamstress is terminated, leaving only one solution: Marriage to handsome, foolhardy Luther Douglas. When Luther's rash behavior brings disgrace, Corrie is ostracized. Even her pastor plays a part in removing two of her children to the orphanage. Only Junie remains faithful. Can Corrie abandon her beliefs and accept his love or must she resurrect an old dream and go on alone?
