Picturing the Maghreb: Literature, Photography, (RE)Presentation

This text analyzes the portrayal of North Africans in a variety of photographs and literary texts. The authors and photographers studied provide powerful alternatives to Orientalism as they attempt to create a nonexploitative cross-cultural discourse.
