The French Situationist movement could arguably be seen as one of the prime ideological factors for the political rebellions of the late 1960s. This work is a result of the fragmentation of the movement, presenting the side of Guy Debord and his allies in the early 70s. Largely drawn from the pages of the Situationist International journal, the material details the Situationist International's view of their place as an anti-hierarchical revolutionary vanguard surrounded by the capitalist society of the spectacle. Amongst the appended material, Situationist dissident Raoul Vaneigem (best known for his treatise The Revolution of Everyday Life) is allowed to present his differences with DeBord in his letter of resignation. First published as La Véritable Scission dans L'Internationale (Editions Champ Libre, Paris, 1972). Distributed by Stylus. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
