The Sheffield & S Yorkshire Navigation: Images of England

This book is part of the Images of England series, which uses old photographs and archived images to show the history of various local areas in England, through their streets, shops, pubs, and people. The Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigation linked the industrial South Yorkshire area with the ports of Hull and Goole, playing an important role in the export of coal and import of a variety of materials such as grain, timber, and steel. This is a photographic history of the waterway with a wide-ranging collection of images from the early days to today showing the influences of the traditional industries of the area.
