Filthy Fictions: Asian American Literature by Women

Chu (English, U. of New Hampshire) examines several contemporary literary texts by Asian American women and considers the ways in which they explore the multiple meanings of "Asian Americans" and "dirt." She engages in three scholarly debates: feminist theory and the body; ethnic studies and the concept of race; and conversations about global and transnational concerns in Asian American studies.
