The Time of Politics (Zamanin Siyasa): Islam and the Politics of Legitimacy in Northern Nigeria, 1950-1966

The Time of Politics shows the instrumentality of Islam in helping to shape the historical and political consciousness of Northern Nigeria during the 1950's and 1960's. This work improves our understanding of the relationship between Islam and Colonialism and highlights the flexibility of the Islamic political vocabulary in West Africa.
