Offers a postmodern analysis linking the contemporary social crisis of masculine subjectivity with the law-and-order crisis over escalating violence. With a focus upon violence as a masculine activity, Hatty (culture, epistemology and medicine, Ohio U.) examines and integrates the major biological, psychological, sociological, and anthropological theoretical models of masculinity and violence.
