Juvenile Justice: Redeeming Our Children

Krisberg (psychiatry, U. of Hawaii), longtime president of the National Council on Crime and Delinquency, shares his insights on the U.S. juvenile justice system. Some of these perspectives were gained from first-hand contact with juvenile gangs. After tracing the historical basis of the current system, comparing the juvenile and criminal justice systems, and discussing race- and gender-specific issues, he cites promising programs and reforms.
