Counselling in Schools

This book describes a theoretical base and offers examples of practice for counseling in secondary schools, for counselors, teachers, caregivers, school nurses and doctors, and family therapists. Key conceptual issues in systemic and solution-focused counseling in school are overviewed, and the practice of counseling and skills necessary for the field are described and illustrated with a case example. Other areas addressed include legal and confidentiality issues, the school's response to traumatic incidents, and practical details involved in setting up a school counseling service and evaluating counseling.
