This dictionary is compiled so that it's volume and scope take into consideration major trends of the development of life in Russia since 1985: the end of the Cold War, the downfall of the Berlin Wall, the initial steps in the creation of a market economy; a computerization of all the spheres of human activity; the abolition of censorship; freedom of religion. We also thought that it might be helpful to some beginning students of Russian to offer the minimum hints of the pronunciation, stress and grammar, and punctuation.
