ZAPOTEC-E/E-Z CONC DICT

A writer, translator, and researcher based in Athens, Ohio, Britton has lived among Oaxaca's Zapotec, where he studied their culture and learned the language. His pocket-sized dictionary of Isthmus Zapotec, one of at least six known varieties of Zapotec, is the first English-Zapotec/Zapotec-English dictionary of its kind, and will appeal to students, travelers, and linguists. The text includes a succinct guide to Zapotec orthography, pronunciation, and grammar, and contain some 5,000 entries, with etymological notes for derivations from Spanish and Nahuatl.
