Integrated Water Resources Planning for the 21st Century

Proceedings of the 22nd Annual Conference of the ASCE Water Resources Planning and Management Division, held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, May 7-11, 1995. Sponsored by the Water Resources Planning and Management Division of ASCE.

This collection contains 289 papers on the challenges facing water resource professionals to reach balanced water management strategies. Papers focus on ways to develop and implement decision-making approaches that integrate numerous objectives and constraints. Many papers examine the principles of watershed-based planning and sustainable development as underlying foundations for sound water resources protection and development.

Topics include: urban drainage and stormwater; water rights and policy; watersheds and wetlands; water pollution control; water supply planning and management; economics, flood control and risk assessment; water conservation and stochastic hydrology; information resources; and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). In addition, a selection of papers discuss water resources issues in Pacific Rim countries.
