Sayings: The Wisdom of Zen

Drawn from the chronicles of generations of Zen monks' and nuns' teachings, this is a collection of Zen wisdom, traced through the lives, works and writings of enlightened beings. It consists of the stories, sutras, parables, proverbs, tales and real-life events of people who set out to inspire both the world that surrounded them and those who came to learn from them. The book is part of a three-volume series which also includes "Haiku: the Poetry of Zen" and "Koans: the Wisdom of Zen".
