Continuing an important study into the lives of a specific group of grade-12 learners, this survey catches up with them one year later, focusing on those who enrolled in teacher education programs. Highlighting the extremely low levels of interest in teaching, this investigation underscores the implications this has for sustainable teacher supply and for the health of an education system, upon which the future of South Africa depends.
