Controversial Issues in Social Welfare Policy: Government and the Pursuit of Happiness

This volume discusses what lessons have been learnt from past efforts to eliminate poverty in the United States, such as the 1935 Social Security Act and the 1964 War on Poverty, and what steps should be taken in the future.
