Teaching Writing: Craft, Art, Genre

Teaching writing through a variety of academic and other disciplines has proven to be beneficial to both students' understanding of content as well as their ability to write within the diverse contexts of their school and life experiences. However, teachers may need tools to integrate writing into their students' work, including the theoretical underpinnings, genre-based writing such as interpretation, persuasion, evaluation, reflection and memoir, strategies such as introducing poetry and modeling, grammar, and computer literacy.
