A collection of eight case studies of the relationships between airline executives and federal regulatory agencies from the passage of the Air Commerce Act in 1926 to the Airline deregulation Act of 1978. The authors hope to expose the interactions between technology, government regulation, and entrepreneurship. The editor has attempted to strike a balance representing various categories of airlines. Large trunklines like American, Eastern, and Continental, and Northwest are covered, as are smaller firms like Pennsylvania Central, Mohawk, and National.
