Has Erik lost his best friend?

Erik struggles not to feel sad and lonely when his best friend ignores him to play with another boy instead. Later, the two boys pelt Erik with snowballs, causing Erik to smack into a tree with his sled and break his arm. Erik decides he will never forgive them. But when he remembers what the Bible says about forgiving, he prays that Jesus will help him do it.
