Intentional Ministry in a Not-So-Mega Church: Becoming a Missional Community

Change is a scary thing for small churches; it's risky and uncomfortable and hard, but it's also necessary-especially in today's rapidly changing society. More and more, churches who have failed to respond to the changes around them are seeing their numbers decrease while the average age of those who remain increases. If these churches are going to survive, they need to move away from a maintenance mentality to a missional mind-set. They must begin to see themselves as mission stations filled with missionaries willing to learn about and engage the culture around them in order to meet the needs of the people they are there to serve.
