The Italian-American Vote in Providence, Rhode Island, 1916-1948

Luconi (history, U. of Florence, Italy) writes on the trends and development of voting behavior of Providence's Italian-American population from the end of WWI to the end of WWII. Following a chapter on the socio-economic history of the community, Luconi describes their voting habits in chronological chapters. As part of his analysis, he considers the impact of the Depression, the wars, and the harder to define issue of political recognition and patronage, which were deemed to run on ethnic lines.
