Native American Power in the United States, 1783-1795

Military resistance to the expansion and consolidation of the United States was only one form of political power exercised against the new government. According to Barnes (Director of Studies, Piccadilly School of English, Italy), this exercise of political power had a profound impact on the development of the country, demonstrating the limitations of the new centralized federal government, exposed divisions between White Americans, and helped push the drive towards a well-organized permanent military force.
