From the Forbidden Garden: Letters from Alejandra Pizarnik to Antonio Beneyto

Argentine poet Pizarnik began a correspondence with Spanish writer and painter Beneyto after the met in the summer of 1967. In this collection of her letters to Beneyto she discusses themes of literary creation and literary influences, often offering commentary on her work in progress. The 30 letters and two postcards included cover a period of three years, beginning in September of 1969 and are characterized by editor Caulfield (Hispanic studies, Mills College) as "most of Pizarnik's substantial correspondence with Beneyto."
