Weiss (Hispanic studies, Mount Allison U., Canada) has herself translated six of the seven plays, all of which date from 1966 through 1996. She has chosen them as among the most significant works on modern Columbian theater, and because they form a chronicle of three decades marked by violence, paradoxes, and hyperbole.
