Readers' Advisory Service In The Public Library

Librarians called upon to make recommendations for adult leisure readers are often confronted by genres and topics outside of their personal experience. Practitioner and consultant Saricks gives practical and creative ways to guide adults to reading material which meets their personal taste and with which they are comfortable. She discusses "read-alike" lists, the advisory interview, incorporation of nonfiction, and the popular book market and its appeal to readers.
