This book examines the fundamentals and applications of novel oxidants including oxygen and peroxide. It presents a variety of approaches including enzymes, organometallic systems, and polyoxometallates. There are a number of critical review chapters highlighting the fundamental chemistry and efforts of the research community to activate and catalyze oxygen and peroxide delignification.
