In 1946, the Office of Military Government (U.S.) (OMGUS) reported the results of investigations into the Deutsche and Dresdner Banks' involvement with the Nazi regime during WWII. The reports concluded that both banks were directly involved in Nazi war crimes and called for their liquidation. The U.S. government buried the documents in classified files, and the banks are two of the largest financial institutions today.
