13th Symposium on Industrial Crystallisation

Crystalline particles must now be produced with closely tailored properties. There is thus a growing interest in a sounder analysis of the key phenomena involved in crystallization and precipitation, and in the development of new integrated processes. A key aim of this symposium on industrial crystallization, the latest in a series which started in 1960, was to offer participants a broader view of the scientific and technological aspects of crystallization and precipitation. It provided a forum to solve technical problems, to discuss new applications and to achieve consensus on process technology developments in what is pre-eminently a multidisciplinary field. In this volume academics and industrialists from France, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, The Netherlands, UK, Australia, USA, Canada, Japan and Taiwan present fully refereed contributions on both fundamental and applied aspects of crystallization. The 39 selected papers cover structure related properties, methods of measurement and prediction of properties and parameters, processes within crystallizers, process design and product quality--formulation. These contributions, with their own literature references, provide an invaluable snapshot of the state of the art in industrial crystallization. The volume offers insights for those working in fields such as fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals, special-effects chemicals, food products, bioproducts, environmentals, catalysts, minerals, ceramics and nano-particulates.
