Economic Crisis and Crime

This volume presents a usefully broad range of criminological analyses related to economic crisis. Propelled by, and specifically concentrating on the financial crisis that began around 2007-2008 and lasts until this day, the authors discuss various criminologically relevant issues, both in connection with crime and deviance as well as the control thereof, on the basis of an analysis of a variety of aspects of economic crisis. More specifically, the chapters in this book deal with fraud and the mortgage foreclosure crisis, white collar and corporate crime under conditions of economic crisis, and the consequences of economic crisis for criminal developments and the organization of law enforcement. Sustaining a now firmly established tradition of the volumes appearing in this series, the contributions are not restricted in terms of theoretical approach and methodological orientation.
