This collection shows Vincent O’Sullivan—one of New Zealand’s leading poets—at the height of his artistic powers. Demonstrating the author’s effortless command of a wide range of poetic forms, the varied themes range from satirical treatments of contemporary intellectual and political culture, to lyric poems on the intimate themes of love and mortality. Lucky Table was shortlisted for the 2001 Montana New Zealand Book Awards.

Vincent O’Sullivan is one of New Zealand’s leading writers. His novel Let the River Stand won the 1994 Montana New Zealand Book Award, and his Believers to the Bright Coast was shortlisted for the 2001 Tasmania Pacific Region prize. He has also authored numerous plays and collections of short stories and poems, is the joint editor of the five-volume Letters of Katherine Mansfield, and has edited a number of major anthologies. He lives in Wellington, New Zealand.
