A Colonial Town: Williamsburg

The 18th century comes alive in the historic community of Williamsburg, Virginia. Young readers will visit Williamsburg at a time when Virginia was a colony of England. They will take part in the founding of Williamsburg and its restoration. They will travel down the wide cobblestone streets of the restored town and learn about the Governor's Palace, the church and school, the Goal, the apothecary, and the post mill. They will find out what the colorful signs represented and who the shopkeepers were. They will get a glimpse of the people who lived in Colonial Williamsburg more than two hundred years ago.
