Customs of Catalonia between Lords and Vassals

Kagay (history, Albany State U., Georgia), who has published extensively on medieval Spanish law, has produced a useful translation of a 13th- century law treatise that includes extensive commentary on the status, legal condition, and privileges of lords and vassals. The translation is fully annotated and introduced by a lengthy essay on the text, its author (he was a canon of Barcelona and royal attorney), and the history of feudalism in medieval Catalonia.
