Herein is a window into the past. This book was written about actual events that occurred in my younger life and my quest to learn more about coal and other forms of energy. Appalachia was populated with people from many different countries. Most large coal companies employed agents in Europe to recruit workers from England, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Poland, etc. Learn about the culture, heritage and hard work of these strong in body and will coal miners.
