Geographic Information Systems and Their Application in Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering

This collection contains 27 papers on the application of geographic information system (GIS) technology to issues of geotechnical earthquake engineering. Offering a comprehensive and up-to-date perspective from selected experts, the collection includes 21 invited papers and written summaries of the findings of six discussion groups. Topics include: the requirements for a GIS from an earthquake engineering viewpoint; the need for standards for transfer of geotechnical information; and hardware/software options given the technology available.
