Exploring Mathematics through Literature

This collection of articles and lessons gives examples of how to use children's literature to teach mathematics in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The articles, previously published by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) in several journals, focus on five content standards (numbers and operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, and data analysis and probability), and describe how the authors have used specific books to teach mathematics.
