Using Activities from the "Mathematics Teacher" to Support Principles and Standards

Girard (Glasgow High School) and Aukshun (Billings West High School) collect activities from the past 30 years of the journal Mathematics Teacher, designed to support teachers as they reach toward the vision of mathematics teaching and learning described in NCTM's Principles and Standards. The activities can be used to replace a lesson in a text, supplement a lesson, or introduce students to applications of mathematics not previously considered. Activities include objectives, materials needed, suggestions for using the activities, and sometimes extensions of the activity.
