Without a national curriculum, the US relies on state requirements for K-12 mathematics courses. This report was produced at the National Math View meeting (July 2004) of state supervisors, mathematicians, and educators, organized to compare state standards. It examines how states have crafted curriculum in response to reform, testing, and the No Child Left Behind Act, while looking at the place of state and federal government in curriculum decisions, as well as schools and school districts. Edited by Lott (past president, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) and Nishimura (past president, Association of State Supervisors of Mathematics), the reports are organized by grade and list the percentage of skills and content covered in courses. Appendices have a summary of documents, templates, list of participants, and a list of standards having lower percentages of agreement. There is no index.
