This collection of Hopi legends represents an important effort to preserve the Hopi teaching stories from First Mesa. Three of the stories were told in Hopi by an eighty-year-old Hopi elder; these were tape-recorded and later translated by Mr. Sevillano's Hopi companion, W. L. Satewa. Their combined efforts have resulted in an enlightening collection of Hopi literature.
