Lewis Epstein addressed the crisis of fatherhood in Coaching for Fatherhood (1996), which promoted “coaching” as a step-by-step strategy to help men become more emotionally connected with their children. In this expanded follow-up book, the author includes new chapters such as “Long Distance Fathering,” “Fathers and Divorce,” and “Gay Fatherhood” to help men become influential and productive dads when far from their children, in the midst of divorce, or when facing barriers as gay men.
